Top NASCAR teams of 2022: No. 2 – Team Penske

When it comes to Ford, the manufacturer’s best performing team of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season has been Team Penske. This three-car team has had nothing short of a memorable season.

They started the 2022 blazing, with rookie Austin Cindric taking the checkered flag at the Daytona 500. However, since the Daytona 500, the driver of the #2 Ford has only placed in the top 10 once, with that coming at Circuit of the Americas.

But the solid driving from teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney has propelled this team toward the top of this chart.

Ryan Blaney sits in a second place tie in the point standings thanks to four top five finishes and six top 10 finishes, and he has finished all but one race.

Although the #12 Ford has run consistently well this year, none of Blaney’s finishes have been top three results. He has placed fourth on three occasions as he seeks his first win of the 2022 season.

Joey Logano, with his last-lap move on William Byron in Sunday’s race at Darlington Raceway, cashed in and secured his first win of the season. While he hadn’t won a points-paying race since last March, he also took the checkered flag at the Busch Light Clash preseason exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
