Aric Almirola spoke about ExxonMobil’s “Mission: Unstoppable” campaign and the key role Mobil Delvac plays in the success of the Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR team.

ExxonMobil recently launched the “Mission: Unstoppable” campaign, a Mobil Delvac-branded campaign that shines a light on how best-in-class lubrication strategies help drive success for America’s trucking fleets, including the fleet of haulers for Stewart-Haas Racing’s NASCAR team.

We had the chance to speak to Aric Almirola, who has driven the #10 Ford for the Gene Haas and Tony Stewart-owned four-car team since replacing Danica Patrick in 2018, about this partnership with ExxonMobil and this new “Mission: Unstoppable” campaign.

“It really started for me when I joined up at Stewart-Haas Racing,” Almirola said to Beyond the Flag of his relationship with Mobil 1. “They already had a partnership with Mobil 1, so I got to see firsthand the influence that they had with our race cars, first and foremost, and all the lubricants that they supply us with there.

“But as time has gone on, it’s opened my eyes to what they do for our fleet of trucks, running up and down the road, across the country.”

Beyond doing what he does on a weekly basis and driving the #10 Ford, he is doing what he can do to create awareness of this new campaign and the products associated with it.

“Mobil Delvac has launched this campaign with Mission: Unstoppable, and it allows our fleet to go longer between oil changes,” Almirola stated. “Mobil 1 has been a very key partner for us. The Mobil Delvac 1 has played a real significant role in my career, just in the simple fact that my race car has to show up to the race track. It provides the lubricant for our haulers and our fleet here to get our race cars to and from the race track.”

While not something that most fans tend to think about or observe on Sundays, this is one of the key behind-the-scenes factors allowing him to do what he does.

“For us, that’s a really big deal,” Almirola continued. “Not only going longer between oil changes, but the reliability of the lubricants, making sure that our trucks show up to the race track. If our haulers don’t show up to the race track, I don’t have a race car to get into to go do my job.”

Gary Geissman, Fleet Manager for Stewart-Haas Racing, stated the following in a press release.

"“We’ve been using Mobil Delvac for over ten years in all our heavy-duty diesel trucks here at Stewart-Haas. In our fleet, we used to change the oil every 20,000 miles. We now change it every 70,000 miles – there’s less downtime for us, and a lot more time to chase the checkered flag.”"

Paul Cigala, Commercial Vehicle Lubricants Applications Engineer for ExxonMobil, added the following.

"“Winning fleets know that every opportunity to increase uptime, reduce labor costs, and free up technician time for other tasks can be a significant advantage for their business. In ‘Mission: Unstoppable,’ we showcase how Mobil Delvac products and services can be a secret ingredient in fueling success for fleets of all sizes – put simply, it can be the ‘unstoppable’ advantage they need to grow their business even further.”"
