Keep tabs on Saturday’s qualifying session for Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Road America, the Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America.

The third of six road course races on the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, the Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America, is scheduled to take place this Sunday afternoon at Road America.

Last July, Road America hosted its second ever Cup Series race and its first since 1956. Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott is the reigning race winner.

The qualifying session for tomorrow afternoon’s 62-lap race around the 14-turn, 4.048-mile (6.515-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin is set to utilize the format which was used for the first two road course races of the season.

Based on the results of the most recent race at Nashville Superspeedway this past Sunday night, the 37 drivers on the entry list are split up into two groups.

The fastest five drivers in each group advance to the second round to battle for the pole position. The remainder of the starting lineup is determined based on the speeds from the first round, irrespective of group number.

This is effectively the same qualifying format as the oval qualifying format, though this session is not a single-car qualifying session and drivers are not limited to a single-lap qualifying effort.

Who will take the pole position for the 2022 season’s third road course race? Follow along with our qualifying updates for the Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America at Road America.
