Rinus VeeKay is without a deal to compete in the 2023 IndyCar season, but he is surely on the radar of a number of top teams. Where will he end up next year?

Rinus VeeKay is a young, talented driver whom many believe could be on the move following the conclusion of the 2022 IndyCar season.

The 21-year-old Dutchman is in his third season as the driver of the #21 Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing, and because he does not have a contract to compete next year, his services are seen as a hot commodity throughout the paddock.

With today being August 1, he is officially allowed to contact other teams. So where will VeeKay end up in 2023? Here are five possible landing spots.

Rinus VeeKay 2023 landing spots: No. 1 – Ed Carpenter Racing

While Rinus VeeKay’s name has been thrown around as one of the top pending free agents on the market, he could do a whole lot worse than staying out at Ed Carpenter Racing for a fourth season behind the wheel of the #21 Chevrolet.

Since a rocky introduction to the series in 2020, VeeKay has shown exceptional speed and demonstrated his ability on all types of circuits. Prior to his collarbone injury last June, he had been slated to contend for a top five finish in the championship standings, thanks in large part to his maiden victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

While his results haven’t been spectacular so far in 2022, he seems to have recovered the speed he lost after his injury last season. And despite crashing out of the Indy 500, he had a car capable of contending for the win. Is there truly a need to seek a ride elsewhere?
