Kaulig Racing are set to make an announcement regarding their 2023 NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup on Wednesday, October 5.

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup is slowly but surely coming together, and another piece of the puzz is scheduled to fall into place later this week at Kaulig Racing Fan Day, leading up to the playoff races at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Saturday, October 8 (Xfinity Series) and Sunday, October 9 (Cup Series).

On Wednesday, October 5, Kaulig Racing plan to host a 5k and silent auction supporting Carolina Breast Friends, food trucks and local vendors, kids’ activities, driver autograph sessions, a Kaulig Racing pop-up gift shop, giveaways and prizes, and much more at their Cup Series and Xfinity Series shops in Welcome, North Carolina.

Kaulig Racing Fan Day is also slated to feature a paint scheme unveil and a 2023 Cup Series driver announcement.

Kaulig Racing run two full-time Cup Series entries this year for the first time. While three drivers are splitting time behind the wheel of the #16 Chevrolet, Justin Haley is the full-time driver of the #31 Chevrolet.

A.J. Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, and Daniel Hemric share the driving duties of the #16 Chevrolet as things stand right now. Allmendinger and Hemric compete full-time for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series, while Gragson competes in the same series but for JR Motorsports.

Gragson is the only one of those three drivers with confirmed plans for 2023, as he is set to make the full-time jump to the Cup Series next year and compete for Petty GMS Motorsports, replacing Ty Dillon behind the wheel of the #42 Chevrolet.

While once seen as the favorite to land a ride with the Matt Kaulig-owned team, we know for a fact that Kyle Busch will not be the subject of this announcement. He brought to an end a lengthy free agency process last month by signing a multi-year deal to drive the #8 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing.

Haley is expected to return to the #31 Chevrolet next year, and it is expected that Allmendinger will be named the full-time driver of the #16 Chevrolet.
