There are three unique scenarios which could unfold in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season finale that would please fans as it pertains to Ty Gibbs.

Ty Gibbs and controversy have gone hand in hand throughout the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, and it appears that this will remain the case until the very end.

Gibbs became the third driver to lock up a spot in the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway, doing so on points during the round of 8 finale at Martinsville Speedway.

JR Motorsports teammates Josh Berry and Noah Gragson had already clinched their spots in the final round by winning the first two races of the round of 8.

But with teammate Brandon Jones in position to clinch the fourth and final spot, Gibbs wrecked him on the last lap to win the race. Instead, JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier locked up that spot on points.

Needless to say, that move — and his ensuing comments — ignited a firestorm, leaving many fans wanting to see one of three things in this coming Saturday’s season finale.

3 things fans want to see: No. 1 – Ty Gibbs gets wrecked

This is undoubtedly the most desirable outcome for most fans, and by far the most straightforward, even if it is not overwhelmingly likely.

NASCAR probably isn’t going to take too kindly to interference in the championship battle — even though that’s exactly what Gibbs did at Martinsville Speedway, since he had already locked himself in when he made his move on Jones.

Having said that, Jones certainly isn’t the only driver who has been completely disrespected by Gibbs at some point this season. It probably isn’t a stretch to say that nobody in the field wants to see “Xfinity Series champion” attached to his name by the end of this weekend. Revenge is by no means out of the question.

Interestingly, Jones is in his final race at Joe Gibbs Racing, and after having been denied a Championship 4 spot by his so-called teammate, perhaps he will deliver JR Motorsports, the team for which he has already signed for 2023, an early “gift”, allowing their trio of contenders to battle for the title among themselves.
