Kyle Busch Motorsports are set to enter a new era in the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season, and they have announced their first driver lineup as a Chevrolet team.

With Kyle Busch moving from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Busch’s Truck Series team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, also made the inevitable switch from Toyota to Chevrolet.

While Busch himself has worked with Chevrolet in the past, having opened up his Cup Series career with a three-year stint at Hendrick Motorsports from 2005 to 2007, Kyle Busch Motorsports have always operated as a Toyota outfit.

As a result, a new era is set to begin for the team in 2023, and before Busch himself and Kyle Busch Motorsports made their final starts with Toyota at Phoenix Raceway this past weekend, the organization confirmed their driver lineup for the majority of next year.

They are set to downsize from three trucks to two for next year, though they are also set to assist Rev Racing amid their expansion into the Truck Series with 2022 ARCA Menards Series champion Nick Sanchez behind the wheel of the #2 Chevrolet.

Just one driver is set to compete full-time for Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2023.

That driver is Chase Purdy. After finishing in 16th place in the championship standings as the full-time driver of the #61 Toyota for Hattori Racing Enterprises in 2022, he is set to pilot the #4 Chevrolet next year.

Jack Wood, who finished in 24th place in the standings as the full-time driver of the #24 Chevrolet for GMS Racing in 2022, is set to be the primary driver of the #51 Chevrolet next year. He is set to drive the truck in 10 of the 23 races on the schedule, though his exact schedule hasn’t yet been announced.

Busch, who was always expected to continue competing in his usual five races per year, is indeed set to do so, though his exact schedule hasn’t yet been announced either. The schedule for the #51 Chevrolet in the other eight races also remains to be seen.
