What will the Daytona 500 entry list look like by the time the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season opener rolls around next month?

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season is scheduled to get underway in three and a half weeks with the 65th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, and not everybody who attempts to qualify for the race will get into the 40-car field.

The 36 chartered entries are all locked into the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona Beach, Florida oval, but the non-chartered entries will be vying for the final four open spots in the single-car qualifying session and the Bluegreen Vacations Duels.

Only 33 of the 36 chartered entries have confirmed drivers, but whoever the other three drivers end up being will still be locked into the race because of the fact that they will be driving chartered entries.

Five non-chartered entries have been confirmed thus far, and all have confirmed drivers, but more could still be added.

Let’s take a look at the projected Daytona 500 entry list.

NOTES:

  • (R) means Daytona 500 rookie.
  • * means the entry is a non-chartered entry.
  • Italics mean the entry is a confirmed entry, but the driver is unconfirmed.
  • Bold means the entry is an unconfirmed entry with an unconfirmed driver.
