NASCAR: When does the 2023 season start?

Another offseason is nearing its end, and the 2023 NASCAR season is scheduled to get underway later this month. The Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Truck Series are all set to open up their seasons at Daytona International Speedway during the third weekend in February.

The Cup Series is unofficially scheduled to get its 2023 season underway this coming weekend at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with the Busch Light Clash preseason exhibition race.

The Busch Light Clash, which has been held each year since 1979, was run at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the first time last year, after having been run at Daytona International Speedway for 43 consecutive seasons. Fox is set to broadcast the race live beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 5.

This race is one of 38 races on the 2023 Cup Series schedule, though it is one of two non-points races. The other is the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, which is scheduled to take place in May.

As for the official start to the season, the NASCAR Truck Series is set to lead things off on Friday, February 17 with the NextEra Energy 250.

This race, the first of 23 on the schedule, is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Then the Xfinity Series is set for the first of 33 races on its 2023 schedule, with the Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. 300 scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 18. Fox Sports 1 is set broadcast the race live beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The weekend is set to conclude with the Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500. The 65th running of the Great American Race is set to be broadcast live on Fox beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.
