NASCAR: The same driver is favored to win all 3 Las Vegas races
By Asher Fair
Fontana Cup Series race winner Kyle Busch is the favorite to win all three NASCAR races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.
In just his second start behind the wheel of the No. 8 Chevrolet at Richard Childress Racing, Kyle Busch found victory lane on Sunday afternoon at Auto Club Speedway, making the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season his 19th straight with at least one win, an all-time record, and making him the ninth winningest driver in the history of the series.
So much for “ruining his career” by leaving Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota after 15 years.
Busch, who is now a co-favorite to win the championship along with Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott, is now set to return to his home track of Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend, and he is set to compete in all three races.
Despite the fact that he retired from Xfinity Series competition after reaching 100 wins in 2021, his move to Richard Childress Racing sparked a change of heart. He is set to compete for Kaulig Racing, which have a technical alliance with Richard Childress’ team, in this race.
Busch, who is technically still on a five-race winning streak at NASCAR’s second highest level going back to 2021, made his most recent Xfinity Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway back in March 2019. He won that race.
As far as the Truck Series is concerned, he is still competing for his own Kyle Busch Motorsports team, but they too have switched from Toyota to Chevrolet. He has competed in Truck Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in each of the last five years. His worst finishes? Runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2022. He was victorious in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Kyle Busch NASCAR odds at Las Vegas
Busch, the winningest driver in NASCAR history when you factor in all three national series, is the betting favorite to win all three races at the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend.
At FanDuel Sportsbook, he is listed at +150 (bet $100 to win $150) to win Friday night’s Truck Series race, the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 (Fox Sports 1, 9:00 p.m. ET). The next driver listed is Front Row Motorsports’ Zane Smith at +500.
Busch is listed at +180 to win Saturday afternoon’s Xfinity Series race, the Alsco Uniforms 300 (Fox Sports 1, 4:30 p.m. ET). The next driver listed is Joe Gibbs Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek, a former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver, at +500.
And no, Busch isn’t just favored to “beat up on the kids”. He is the favorite, though to a lesser extent, to win Sunday afternoon’s Cup Series race, the Pennzoil 400 (Fox, 3:30 p.m. ET). He is listed at +600. The next driver listed is Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson at +700.
