NASCAR drivers who could fall out of the playoffs: No. 4 – Brad Keselowski

RFK Racing’s Brad Keselowski is listed for the same reason as teammate Chris Buescher. As far as RFK Racing goes, we need to see it to believe it.

Keselowski struggled mightily in his first year with the organization formerly known as Roush Fenway Racing, failing to record a finish of higher than fifth place and coming nowhere close to making the playoffs.

Prior to 2022, Keselowski hadn’t missed the playoffs since 2013, and he hadn’t had a winless season since 2010.

But there is reason for optimism.

Keselowski led the most laps in the Daytona 500, a race that he somehow still hasn’t won despite the fact that he is the active leader in total superspeedway victories, for the second straight year, and he rebounded from an early spin to finish in seventh place at Auto Club Speedway.

That seventh place finish would have been tied for his second best result throughout all of 2022. Through two races this year, he sits in 10th in the point standings.

Keselowski knew that the focus was on the long run when he joined RFK Racing, which makes it well worth mentioning that the 2010 season, his most recent winless season prior to last year, was also his first season with Team Penske. Suffice it to say that the 2012 champion ended up figuring it out.

But is he equipped to do it again at an organization that has been, at best, a midfield team for the last decade-plus?
