NASCAR: 3 longshot picks to win United Rentals 500
By Joe Summers
A few longshots are offering good value for the United Rentals Work United 500 NASCAR Cup Series race this Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.
Chase Briscoe won last year’s event (formerly known as the Ruoff Mortgage 500) and sits at +2000 to defend his title, though Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney are favored at +800.
I’m looking deeper down the board though, and believe we can nail a huge odds payout. What’s more, you can ensure yourself a BIG payday thanks to FanDuel Sportsbook’s amazing promo: Bet $20, Win $200 GUARANTEED! Even if your bet loses, you’re walking away with $200! But it’s only valid this week, so jump on it now!

Longshot Picks to Win United Rentals Work United 500
With a number of high-profile drivers at the top of the odds leaderboard, there’s value in some other names to utilize their experience at this track to surprise sportsbooks. I think we’ll see someone farther down the list make a splash this weekend, and we can fire away on these names without worry thanks to FanDuel’s guaranteed win!
Daniel Suarez (+3500)
Suarez finished ninth in the race last year and enters this year’s race in excellent form after posting three consecutive top 10 finishes to start the season. He is one of only two drivers with three top-10 results (Alex Bowman), continuing last season’s breakout that saw him secure 13 top 10 finishes, six top five finishes, and his first career win.
If he continues his steady racing, it’s only a matter of time before Suarez finds the winner’s circle. At +3500 odds, I’m thrilled to take a shot on one of NASCAR’s most consistent drivers through the first few events of the season.
Bubba Wallace (+4000)
Coming off a top five finish at the Pennzoil 400, his first since September, Bubba Wallace seems to be rounding into form heading into this weekend. He complained that the front end of his Toyota malfunctioned in Las Vegas, so he should perform even better after a few mechanical adjustments.
Short tracks favor Wallace, as he was a top 15 driver in four short track races last season. As he gains confidence, we won’t see odds this large on him for long. At a track that suits his style, we’re getting fantastic value for Wallace to break through and pick up his first win of the year.
Ty Gibbs (+6500)
Gibbs hasn’t finished in the top 15 yet this season, but his familiarity with Phoenix Raceway gives him an edge this week. Not only did he win the Xfinity Series championship here in November, but he also had three wins, a runner-up finish, and 339 laps led in four ARCA/K&N races on this track.
He’s struggled relative to expectations so far this year, but Gibbs is due for a breakthrough sooner rather than later. I’ll take his +6500 odds to get ahead of the curve, as this track suits Gibbs perfectly.
Before you lock any bets in for this weekend, don’t forget to sign up for FanDuel Sportsbook first to secure a guaranteed $200.
If one of these racers wins, you’ll get a HUGE payday. If they don’t, you’ll still get $200! Don’t miss out on this crazy opportunity and sign up for FanDuel now!
