Bahrain International Circuit became the 22nd track at which Max Verstappen has won a Formula 1 race. Among races on the 2023 calendar, where has he not won?

Two-time reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen opened up the 2023 season in perfect fashion, taking the pole position for the Bahrain International Circuit and never relinquishing the lead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, except during his opening pit stop.

The win was the 36th of Verstappen’s career, good for sixth place on the all-time wins list, but it was only his first at the 15-turn, 3.363-mile (5.412-kilometer) road course in Sakhir, Bahrain.

The 25-year-old Dutchman has now won at 22 different tracks since earning his first win at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. Now he is on an eight-year winning streak, which is five years longer than the next longest streak, and there are very few tracks remaining on the schedule where he hasn’t yet won.

Entering the 2023 Formula 1 season, there were five tracks on the calendar where Max Verstappen had never won.

He can check off the first one, leaving just four. But he has only ever competed at three of those four.

In six starts at Albert Park Circuit, he has never won the Australian Grand Prix. His top finish there is a third place effort in 2019. This year’s race is scheduled for Sunday, April 2.

In the same number of starts at Marina Bay Street Circuit, he has never won the Singapore Grand Prix. His top finish there is a second place effort in 2018. This year’s race is scheduled for Sunday, September 17.

His lone start at Losail International Circuit came in 2021, when he placed second in the Qatar Grand Prix. This year’s race is scheduled for Sunday, October 8.

And finally, he has never won at Las Vegas Street Circuit — and neither has anybody else. That track is scheduled to make its debut with the first ever Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday, November 18.
