Larry McReynolds is set to join the Fox Sports broadcast booth for Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway.

This past Sunday afternoon at Circuit of the Americas, 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kurt Busch and Haas Formula 1 team principal Guenther Steiner joined the Fox Sports broadcast booth for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.

Since the start of last year, Fox have had guest analysts fill the third spot alongside full-time lead announcer Mike Joy and analyst Clint Bowyer. In this case, two additional spots were added for Busch and Steiner on Sunday. Chase Elliott, who remains sidelined with a broken leg, also joined remotely.

But Fox will be going back to having just one guest analyst for this coming Sunday afternoon’s race at Richmond Raceway.

For the first time in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Larry McReynolds is set to join the Fox booth for the Toyota Owners 400.

McReynolds is already a part of the Fox team, having been with the network since 2001, but he generally doesn’t call races in the booth. However, he has plenty of experience doing so. He made his most recent appearance last June at Sonoma Raceway.

Note that the Toyota Owners 400 is set to be on Fox Sports 1, not regular Fox. Aside from the Bluegreen Vacations Duels qualifying races for the Daytona 500, it is the first race of the year on Fox Sports 1 as opposed to Fox.

Beyond this Sunday’s race, Fox have confirmed a third booth member for just three more races. Tony Stewart, who has been in the booth four times already this season, is set to join Joy and Bowyer for the upcoming races at Bristol Motor Speedway (Easter Sunday, April 9), Talladega Superspeedway (Sunday, April 23), and Charlotte Motor Speedway (Sunday, May 28).

All three of these races are set to be on Fox, not Fox Sports 1.

Stewart also called the Busch Light Clash preseason exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, plus the official season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway and the races at Auto Club Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway. Danica Patrick called the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.
