McLaren Custom Grills is the primary sponsor of Kyle Busch’s No. 8 Chevrolet for Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Despite the departure of M&M’s ultimately leading to his own departure from Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, ending a 15-year run with the team and Toyota, Kyle Busch hasn’t had much of a problem lining up sponsors to be on his No. 8 Chevrolet throughout his first season with Richard Childress Racing.

One aspect of Busch’s deal with Richard Childress Racing is that he is allowed to pursue Indy 500 deals with Chevrolet teams. He had been in serious talks with Arrow McLaren about running a fourth entry for the team in 2023, though that ultimately fell through.

Now Busch has officially joined forces with McLaren for a race — but not that McLaren.

McLaren Custom Grills is set to be the primary sponsor of Busch’s No. 8 Chevrolet in this Sunday afternoon’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

McLaren is certainly a great brand name for a race car sponsor. The Canadian custom sports barbecue company has been a secondary sponsor of the team throughout the 2023 season.

According to their Twitter bio, the up-and-coming organization, which just released a new website on Wednesday, makes custom grills for the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and for all 30 NBA teams.

Busch owns just one win at the four-turn, 2.66-mile (4.281-kilometer) high-banked Lincoln, Alabama oval, that coming back in April 2008, but he has led laps in 27 of his 35 starts at the track.

Given how he ran at Daytona International Speedway in the Daytona 500 back in February, it would not be surprising to see him end his 15-year superspeedway winless streak this weekend.
