Drivers who can win both Indy races: Honorable mention – Conor Daly

Conor Daly has never won an IndyCar race. What are the chances that he wins his two first races during the most important month of the year?

They’re not zero.

His two best finishes in the past five years both came last year in these two races. Daly finished in fifth and sixth place in the GMR Grand Prix and the Indy 500, respectively.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway gives Daly an extra boost. Being a Hoosier himself and feeding off of the crowd’s energy should give him some better results than what he has gotten so far this year.

Ed Carpenter Racing, as they always do, are going to roll out a strong Indy 500 wagon. The team have had a top six finisher in five of the last seven Indy 500s. That combined with Daly’s growing confidence at his home race track gives him a puncher’s chance in both events.
