NASCAR: Atlanta race not being broadcast on NBC

The Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart is the first race of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season that is set to be broadcast on USA Network.
Two Sunday evenings ago, NBC began their portion of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series broadcast schedule with the 36-race season’s 17th race at Nashville Superspeedway. NBC also aired the inaugural race on the streets of Chicago, Illinois last Sunday evening.
But not all 20 races on the schedule following the annual transition from Fox to NBC are set to be broadcast live on NBC. In fact, exactly half of them are set to be shown on USA Network.
USA Network is the NBCUniversal-owned network which took over as the alternative broadcast channel during NBC’s portion of the broadcast schedule once NBC Sports Network shut down at the end of 2021.
This coming Sunday evening’s Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart at Atlanta Motor Speedway is the first of 10 races on the schedule to be shown live on USA Network as opposed to NBC.
The 260-lap race around the four-turn, 1.54-mile (2.478-kilometer) oval in Hampton, Georgia is the first of five consecutive races set to be aired on USA Network and not NBC. The upcoming races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Richmond Raceway, and Michigan International Raceway are also set to be broadcast live on USA Network.
NBC isn’t set to show another NASCAR Cup Series race until Sunday, August 13.
The Verizon 200 at The Brickyard is scheduled to take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on that date.
Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott is set to enter Sunday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway as the reigning winner, though it was Team Penske’s Joey Logano who won the race at the track back in March.
FanDuel Sportsbook, which is now offering fans an instant $200 just for signing up and placing a $20 bet, lists Elliott as favorite to win the race at +850.
