The NASCAR Cup Series is set for its lone trip to Pocono Raceway of the 2023 season this weekend. Which drivers are most likely to win the HighPoint.com 400?

Like New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Pocono Raceway is a track at which the NASCAR Cup Series used to run two annual races, but that recently changed.

Beginning in 2020, there has only been one annual trip to the Tricky Triangle, though in 2020 and 2021, that one annual trip featured a doubleheader. The 2022 season was the first season since 1981 in which only one race was contested at the three-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Long Pond, Pennsylvania venue.

This track is one at which the favorites are known to shine. Not since 2016 has there been a season in which the Championship 4 did not feature a Pocono Raceway winner from earlier in the season.

Last year’s race ended in somewhat controversial fashion, when six-time Pocono Raceway winner Denny Hamlin was denied what would have been a record-breaking seventh win after his No. 11 Toyota failed post-race inspection.

With teammate Kyle Busch also disqualified from second place for the same reason, Chase Elliott inherited the win after leading zero of the race’s 160 laps. He went on to qualify for the Championship 4 for a series-best third straight season.

Who will prevail in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway?

FanDuel Sportsbook, which is offering an instant $100 to NASCAR fans who sign up and place a single $5 bet (no promo code needed!), lists Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. as the +500 co-favorites to win the HighPoint.com 400.

Here are the five drivers most likely to win Sunday’s race, according to the odds.

We have already discussed Hamlin and the fact that he is a six-time winner at Pocono Raceway, plus the fact that he thought he had become a seven-time winner at the track before being disqualified after what would have been a record-breaking win last year.

Given the recent speed of Toyota, it is no surprise to see him listed as the co-favorite. Joe Gibbs Racing currently occupy three of the top four spots in the point standings.

And it is certainly no surprise that Truex is the other co-favorite. The new points leader dominated at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Monday afternoon and has now won three of the 10 most recent races after finishing the 2022 season without a single top three finish. He has also recently emerged as the new overall championship betting favorite.

Odds and availability are always subject to change, so be sure to lock in your $100 now before it’s too late!
