Keep tabs on Friday’s qualifying session for Saturday night’s 2023 NASCAR Cup Series regular season-ending Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 is set to conclude the 26-race 2023 NASCAR Cup Series regular season at Daytona Internatioanl Speedway.

Drivers are not split up into two groups for qualifying at superspeedway races like they are for other oval races. The qualifying order for Saturday’s 160-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona Beach, Florida was determined by the metric.

The metric takes into account four variables: the driver’s finish in the most recent race (25%), the car owner’s finish in the most recent race (25%), the car owner’s rank in the owner standings (35%), and the rank of the driver’s fastest lap in the most recent race (15%).

The first two categories are combined into one category weighted at 50% for drivers who drive the same car in each race.

All drivers on the entry list are set to make a single-lap qualifying attempt, and the fastest 10 drivers in the opening round are set to advance to the second round shootout for the pole position.

Who will take the pole position for Saturday night’s race? Keep tabs on our live qualifying updates from Friday’s session.
