Possible Logan Sargeant replacements: No. 2 – Liam Lawson

There could be some hesitation from Williams to make a move for Liam Lawson, as the two most recent rookies to be given a full-time seat by the team did not work out at all. However, Lawson does have some differences from Nicholas Latifi and Logan Sargeant.

Coming through the Red Bull Junior Team, Lawson has garnered plenty of praise from those within Red Bull and the Formula 1 paddock. There is a general expectation that he could become the next rookie to get a full-time seat in the sport.

It would be a fairly justifiable chance for Williams to take, as it is one that has the potential to help the team continue their upward progress for the foreseeable future.

The 21-year-old has been one of the best in the Japanese Super Formula Championship this season, currently sitting in second place with the championship in his sights. His ability to excel in a non-traditional path to Formula 1 definitely has some meaning to it.

However, his ties to Red Bull could make it difficult for the Wantage-based team to secure his signature. As things stand, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are set to continue where they are in 2024, but AlphaTauri could be a more logical landing spot. This, of course, depends on what is decided upon for Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo.
