NASCAR drivers Chase Elliott fans can root for: No. 4 – Kevin Harvick

Chase Elliott fans have justifiably had a beef with Kevin Harvick on a number of occasions in recent years as well, most notably in 2021 for their playoff contact at Bristol Motor Speedway and then at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

But instead of hoping to wish Harvick a “merry offseason and happy Christmas” in the opening rounds like Elliott did after Harvick basically eliminated himself with his retaliation move on Elliott at Charlotte two years ago, perhaps he can be the driver they get behind for the next 10 weeks.

Harvick is in his final Cup Series season and seeking his second championship — and his first win in over a year. It would be a proper sendoff for a driver who ranks top 10 on the all-time wins list to go out on top.

The driver of the No. 4 Ford is also one who has spoken highly of Elliott in the past and preached about how important it was that NASCAR’s most popular driver had success.

Elliott, already an 18-time Cup Series race winner, has certainly backed it up, most notably in 2020 when he became the first most popular driver to win a championship since his father Bill pulled it off in 1988.

While tension may have been high between the two in the past, the respect has certainly always been there, and there’s no reason to ignore that as the 2014 champion enters his final 10 races.
