Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway is the third of four on the playoff schedule which is not on NBC’s schedule.

USA Network’s coverage of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs is scheduled to continue this Saturday night with the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

This race is the 13th race since Fox’s portion of this year’s broadcast schedule ended and NBC’s began, and it is the ninth race set to be shown on USA Network.

USA Network, which is owned by NBCUniversal, is the alternative broadcast channel during NBC’s portion of the broadcast calendar for the second year in a row. That role used to belong to NBC Sports Network before it shut down at the end of 2021.

Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series race is the penultimate race on USA Network this season.

This 500-lap race around the four-turn, 0.533-mile (0.858-kilometer) high-banked oval in Bristol, Tennessee is the third and final race of the opening round (round of 16) of the playoffs, and it is the third of four playoff races on USA Network’s schedule. The fourth of those four races is next weekend’s round of 12 opener at Texas Motor Speedway.

Following these next two events, NBC is set to take over again for the final six races of the 2023 season, starting with the middle race of the round of 12 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, October 1.

RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher is the reigning winner of the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, having won the race last September despite the fact that he did not qualify for the postseason. In fact, all three of the races in the round of 16 of last year’s playoffs were won by drivers who did not qualify for the playoffs.

The most recent winner at Bristol Motor Speedway is Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell, though he won the dirt race at the track back in April.

FanDuel Sportsbook, which is now offering fans an instant $200 when they sign up and bet $5, lists Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson as the +550 favorite to win the Bass Pro Shops Night Race.
