For the first time since August, a NASCAR Cup Series race is set to be broadcast live on NBC as opposed to USA Network this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

The first four races of the four-round, 10-race 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs schedule were broadcast live on USA Network

USA Network took over NBC Sports Network’s role as the NBCUniversal-owned alternative broadcast network during NBC’s portion of the broadcast schedule following NBC Sports Network’s shutdown at the end of 2021.

But last Sunday afternoon’s round of 12 opener at Texas Motor Speedway was the 10th and final race — and the fourth and final playoff race — on USA Network’s 2023 Cup Series broadcast schedule.

Beginning with this Sunday afternoon’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, all remaining NASCAR Cup Series playoff races are set to be shown live on NBC.

NBC hasn’t broadcast a race live since the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway in late August. NBC’s portion of the broadcast schedule began after Fox’s wrapped up at Sonoma Raceway in mid-June.

Six of the final 10 regular season races were shown live on USA Network, while the other four were shown on NBC, so with the final six playoff races set to be shown live on NBC, both are set to end up with 10 by the time the season concludes.

Following this Sunday’s 188-lap race around the four-turn, 2.66-mile (4.281-kilometer) high-banked oval in Lincoln, Alabama, there is just one race remaining on the round of 12 schedule. That race is scheduled to take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Sunday, October 8.

The three races on the schedule for the round of 8 are set to be contested at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, October 15; Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, October 22; and Martinsville Speedway on Sunday, October 29. The Championship 4 season is set to be contested at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, November 5.

FanDuel Sportsbook, which is offering fans an instant $200 just for betting $5 on any driver, lists RFK Racing’s Brad Keselowski and Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney as the co-favorites to win this Sunday afternoon’s YellaWood 500.
