With Craftsman's title sponsorship deal of the NASCAR Truck Series due to expire at the end of the 2026 season, NASCAR has been in pursuit of a new title sponsor for 2027 and beyond, and now they have landed the one that they had been rumored to land over the past couple of weeks.
Beginning in 2027, the Truck Series is set to be known as the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series, marking the first series title sponsorship change since Craftsman, which served as the title sponsor from 1996 to 2008, returned to the series in 2023.
The series was known as the NASCAR SuperTruck Series in its inaugural season back in 1995, the year before Craftsman initially took over.
From 2009 to 2018, the series was known as the Camping World Truck Series. It was known as the Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2019 and the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in 2020 before reverting to the Camping World Truck Series in 2021 and 2022.
FedEx name back in NASCAR, first time since 2024
While the name FedEx is set to return to NASCAR for the first time since ending a 20-year relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing and Denny Hamlin following the 2024 season, this title sponsorship is specifically from FedEx Freight.
Back in June, FedEx Corp. completed its spin-off of FedEx Freight Holding Company, Inc., establishing the latter as its own independent, publicly traded company and focused leader in the North American less-than-truckload industry.
Other individual FedEx services include FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Office, and FedEx Supply Chain.
In addition to the Truck Series title sponsor, FedEx Freight is also set to become an Official Partner of NASCAR and NASCAR’s exclusive freight shipping partner in the United States, Canada, and Mexico beginning on Friday, January 1, 2027.

The 2027 NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series season is scheduled to get underway on Friday, February 19 with the Fresh From Florida 250 from Daytona International Speedway. All 25 races on the schedule are set to be shown live on either Fox or Fox Sports 1 throughout the season.
