Harrison Burton, who has run full-time in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series since losing his Cup Series ride with Wood Brothers Racing following the 2024 season, reunited with Toyota for the first time since 2021 this year. He now competes for Sam Hunt Racing after spending the 2025 season competing for AM Racing and Ford.
That Toyota reunion also allowed Burton to make his first Craftsman Truck Series start in the series' most recent race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park three weekends ago, when he drove the No. 5 Tricon Garage Toyota to a 16th place finish.
Burton, who competed full-time in the Truck Series for Kyle Busch Motorsports and Toyota in 2019, had not run a Truck Series race since 2022, when he competed in both the dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway and the road course race at Sonoma Raceway for David Gilliland Racing.
But beyond the Indianapolis race, Burton does not have any further plans to compete in the Truck Series this year.
Harrison Burton replacement confirmed for Richmond race
This weekend, it's Corey Heim who is set to be back behind the wheel of the No. 5 Toyota at Richmond Raceway for the third time this year. Heim won at Darlington Raceway in the No. 5 truck back in March, and he added a ninth place finish at North Wilkesboro Speedway in July.
The reigning series champion has also spent four races in the team's No. 1 Toyota, winning at Rockingham Speedway and Michigan International Speedway.
Heim doesn't have any other Truck Series starts lined up for 2026 beyond this weekend, but that is subject to change, as he is not currently competing full-time in any series as he prepares to make the full-time jump to the Cup Series with 23XI Racing in 2027. He has been the development driver for the team owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin since 2025.
He has run eight of his 12 scheduled Cup Series starts so far this season, winning on Naval Base Coronado and at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to become the first driver since A.J. Foyt in 1965 to win twice in his first 15 starts. He is not scheduled to run this weekend's Cup race at Richmond.
He is scheduled to run the upcoming Cup races at Daytona International Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
