Another NASCAR Cup Series season is set to come to a close this Sunday afternoon with the Straight Talk Wireless 400, marking the first season to end at Homestead-Miami Speedway since the late Kyle Busch won his second championship in November 2019. Phoenix Raceway hosted the championship decider each year from 2020 to 2025.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Chase Briscoe took the pole position for Sunday's 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) oval in Homestead, Florida by recording a top lap speed of 166.687 miles per hour in his No. 19 Toyota.
Teammate Denny Hamlin, whom Briscoe beat to the top spot by 0.017 seconds, is set to start beside him on the front row behind the wheel of his No. 11 Toyota.
Hamlin is one of three drivers still in championship contention heading into the season finale, although he is 70 points behind Hendrick Motorsports' Kyle Larson with 76 points up for grabs. Larson qualified sixth, while the other title contender, Joe Gibbs Racing's Christopher Bell, qualified sixth. Bell is 67 points behind Larson.
Here's a look at the full starting lineup for Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami. Note that pre-race penalties are not factored into the chart below.
