All four of the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series drivers have made appearances in the Craftsman Truck Series for Tricon Garage at some point throughout the 2026 season, with Brent Crews doing so most recently two weekends ago at Kansas Speedway.
Crews drove the No. 1 Tricon Garage Toyota at Watkins Glen International back in May and finished seventh, and he placed third at Kansas behind the wheel of the No. 5 Toyota.
This weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Crews is set to make his third Truck Series start of the season, but he is set to return to the No. 1 Toyota.
Brent Crews replacement confirmed at Charlotte
Instead of Crews, it's Bayley Currey who is set to be behind the wheel of the No. 5 Toyota for Friday night's 134-lap Ecosave 200 around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Concord, North Carolina oval.
Currey, who has now competed in at least one NASCAR national series each season from 2017 to 2026, made his first start of the year at Bristol Motor Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 5 Toyota three weekends ago, and he finished in a career-high second place.
In 83 previous starts, with several each year from 2017 to 2025, Currey had never finished higher than fourth. His four other top five finishes include a pair of fourth place efforts at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta Motor Speedway) in its current superspeedway configuration in 2023 and 2025, as well as fifth place efforts at Nashville Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2023.
Beyond this weekend, Currey does not have any more starts lined up for the 2026 season. Crews does, although he is set to remain in the No. 1 Toyota for that race. He is set to compete again next weekend at Phoenix Raceway.
The driver of the No. 5 truck has not yet been confirmed for the Phoenix race, or for any other race remaining on the schedule after Charlotte, for that matter.
None of NASCAR's three national series have any more off weekends scheduled between now and the season-ending race weekend at Homestead in early November. There are five races remaining on each series' schedule in 2026.
Fox, not the usual Fox Sports 1, is set to broadcast Friday's Ecosave 200 from Charlotte Motor Speedway beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET. Start a free trial of FuboTV now and don't miss any of the action!
