The fourth of five consecutive race weekends to wrap up the 18-race 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season is set to feature the fourth and fifth races of this six-race stretch at the Milwaukee Mile, with the series set for its lone doubleheader of the year.

The 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) oval in West Allis, Wisconsin returned to the IndyCar schedule for the first time since 2015 with a doubleheader in 2024, but it dropped back down to one race in 2025 before the doubleheader was brought back this year.

Chip Ganassi Racing's Alex Palou dominated the race from pole a year ago, but it was Ed Carpenter Racing's Christian Rasmussen who stormed to the front after a light drizzle forced a yellow flag that shook up the tire strategy in the race's late stages. In three races contested at Milwaukee since 2024, no polesitter has won; Rasmussen's ninth place starting position is the lowest for a winner during that stretch.

Palou has a chance to clinch his fifth IndyCar championship and fourth in a row as early as Saturday afternoon's 250-lap race, but he is set to receive a nine-position grid penalty for that race due to an unapproved engine change in his No. 10 Honda. He owns a 91-point lead over Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood, who crashed with Rasmussen in Friday's lone practice session.

IndyCar is set to utilize a traditional two-lap oval qualifying format this weekend, but as has been the case for past doubleheaders, lap one is set to count toward the starting lineup for only the first race, while lap two is set to count toward the starting lineup for only the second; average speed, in and of itself, determines nothing.

Follow along with our qualifying updates from the Milwaukee Mile for both the Snap-on Makers and Fixers 250 (Race No. 1) and the Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250 (Race No. 2).
