The 2027 NASCAR Cup Series schedule has been solidified, and as far as venues go, there have only really been two changes.
North Wilkesboro Speedway is set to go back to hosting the All-Star Race, after hosting its first points race since 1996 in mid-July, and Dover Motor Speedway, which replaced North Wilkesboro as the host of the All-Star Race and was therefore left without a points race for the first time since 1968, before the track even opened, is set to reclaim its points race.
Additionally, Bowman Gray Stadium will not return as the host of the Clash preseason exhibition race, with that race being shifted back to Daytona International Speedway for the first time since 2021. It hasn't been contested on the Daytona Beach, Florida venue's oval since 2020.
NASCAR track set for 2027, but removed for 2028
But for 2028, it has already been announced that a track on both the 2026 and 2027 calendars will not be back, and that is the street course on Naval Base Coronado.
While NASCAR ended the speculation about the 2027 schedule by bringing the track back after a successful inaugural event this past June, they have confirmed that they plan to host another street race on a different military installation in 2028, with the exact location still TBD.
This does not mean that the 19-turn, 3.4-mile (5.472-kilometer) Qualcomm Circuit, more commonly known as the Coronado Street Course, will not return to the calendar at some point down the road, as NASCAR's stated goal is to formulate a long-term plan for future events on military bases on a rotation basis.
The 2027 Coronado race is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 1. This year, all three national series raced at the track, while only the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series is set to join the Cup Series there next year.
The 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season is officially scheduled to get underway on Sunday, February 21 with the 69th annual Daytona 500, just over one week after the Clash on Saturday, Febraury 13 at the same four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona Beach, Florida oval.
