Sheldon Creed spent four full seasons in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly Xfinity Series) before finally earning his first career victory at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta Motor Speedway) back in February.

He has since added to that win tally, finding victory lane at Darlington Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway early in the postseason to take the championship lead.

After that win at Bristol, however, it was announced that Creed would not be returning to Haas Factory Team for what would have been a third season with the team next year.

For the first time in his career, the 2020 Craftsman Truck Series champion is set to be paid a salary in 2027, as he signed a multi-year deal with Sam Hunt Racing to drive the No. 26 Toyota and beyond, replacing Dean Thompson.

Sam Hunt Racing confirms full 2027 driver lineup

With Harrison Burton, who drives the team's No. 24 Toyota, set to move to Peterson Racing to drive the No. 78 Chevrolet full-time next year, amid their expansion from one to two full-time entries, Sam Hunt Racing have now confirmed the second half of their lineup overhaul for 2027.

Blaine Perkins is set to replace Burton behind the wheel of the No. 24 Toyota, joining Creed in an all-new Sam Hunt Racing driver lineup.

Perkins has competed full-time in the O'Reilly Series since 2023. He split time with SS-Green Light Racing and Our Motorsports that year before competing full-time for RSS Racing in 2024. He has run full-time for Jordan Anderson Racing ever since.

Perkins, whose career-best championship finish of 26th came a year ago after he recorded a career-high finish of sixth place at Talladega Superspeedway, currently sits 22nd in the standings with a top finish of eighth at Daytona International Speedway.

As for Haas Factory Team, they have to replace both Creed and Sam Mayer, with Mayer set to move back to JR Motorsports after spending two years in the No. 41 car. Thompson is set to join Haas Factory Team in a third entry, amid their own expansion.
