There are just two tracks on the 10-race 2026 NASCAR Cup Series "Chase" postseason schedule that were not featured on the 26-race regular season schedule, and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway is one of them.
Sunday's 240-lap Enjoy Illinois 300 around the four-turn, 1.25-mile (2.012-kilometer) Madison, Illinois oval is the second race on the playoff schedule, after the postseason got underway a week ago with the Cook Out Southern 500 crown jewel race at Darlington Raceway, a race won by Joe Gibbs Racing's Christopher Bell.
After qualifying was canceled for that race, this Saturday's qualifying session at Gateway was the first of the playoffs. Team Penske's Joey Logano took the pole position behind the wheel of his No. 22 Ford, and Hendrick Motorsports' Kyle Larson started the race beside him on the front row behind the wheel of his No. 5 Chevrolet.
Follow along with our Enjoy Illinois 300 race updates from Gateway. Only the top 10 drivers are included after the first two stages.
