When it comes to competing in NASCAR's lower national series, no driver has been busier than Trackhouse Racing Cup Series driver Ross Chastain in the early going this season.

He has already run four O'Reilly Auto Parts Series races for three different teams, and he made his first start of the Craftsman Truck Series season in the season's fourth and most recent race at Darlington Raceway.

He drove the No. 45 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet to a runner-up finish behind 2025 champion Corey Heim of Tricon Garage.

The 33-year-old Alva, Florida native is set to compete in eight total races for Niece Motorsports in the Truck Series this year, which is the maximum for full-time Cup Series drivers with at least three years of Cup Series experience. But his full schedule has not yet been determined, aside from the fact that he won't compete this weekend at Rockingham Speedway.

Ross Chastain replacement confirmed for Rockingham

Landen Lewis, who replaced another Cup Series driver in Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after Stenhouse opened up the year with back-to-back Truck Series starts in the No. 45 entry at Daytona International Speedway and EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta Motor Speedway), is set to replace Chastain at Rockingham.

Lewis, who competed in three total Truck Series races across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, returned for the first time in two years in the series' inaugural street course race in St. Petersburg, Florida, and scored a career-high sixth place finish.

The previous best finish for the 20-year-old Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina native had been 24th, which he recorded in his series debut at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course three years ago with Roper Racing.

This weekend's race at the four-turn, 0.94-mile (1.513-kilometer) Rockingham, North Carolina oval is set to mark his first oval start since he competed at Martinsville Speedway for Hattori Racing Enterprises in 2024.

Lewis, who won the 2025 CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour with Kevin Harvick Incorporated, is set to run additional races in the No. 45 truck later this year, although his exact schedule has not yet been solidified.

Rockingham Speedway is scheduled to host the Black's Tire 200 this Friday, April 3, with live coverage set to be provided by Fox Sports 1 beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. Start a free trial of FuboTV and catch all of the action from "The Rock"!
