The Brickyard 400 wrapped up year number two of NASCAR's In-Season Challenge tournament at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and it wrapped up a stretch of 16 consecutive race weekends, dating back to the post-Easter race at Bristol Motor Speedway in mid-April.
It also wrapped up TNT Sports' second season as a NASCAR broadcast partner since the new seven-year, $7.7 billion deal went into effect ahead of the 2025 campaign.
TNT was not a part of the 10-year deal from 2015 to 2024, which included only Fox and NBC, but had been a Cup Series broadcast partner before that stretch. Amazon Prime Video, like TNT, was also given five races per year under the new agreement, beginning with its own crown jewel, the Coca-Cola 600, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Who are the announcers for NASCAR on USA Sports?
The branding is notably no longer NBC Sports but USA Sports, which is aiming to establish its brand as its own entity now under parent company Versant Media. Versant split from Comcast and NBC at the end of 2025.
Following the second and final off weekend of the 2026 season, USA Sports is set to take over for the remainder of the year, including the final four regular season races and the entire 10-race "Chase" postseason.
USA Network is set to air 10 of those 14 races, with NBC itself responsible only for the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway and the postseason's final three races at Talladega Superspeedway, Martinsville Speedway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
While one of the announcers from both Prime's and TNT's portions of the broadcast schedule is set to return for another year with NBC, there will be two new, albeit familiar, voices in the booth this coming weekend.
Despite NBC's overall race reduction under the new agreement, Steve Letarte expanded his broadcasting schedule by remaining with NBC for a 12th consecutive season and joining Prime Video and TNT alongside lead announcer Adam Alexander and fellow analyst Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Set to join Letarte at USA Sports once again this season are lead announcer Leigh Diffey and analyst Jeff Burton. Diffey replaced Rick Allen during NBC's portion of the 2024 schedule, as NBC wanted to make sure they hung onto him following IndyCar's move from NBC to Fox for 2025. Burton has been in the NBC booth with Letarte since 2015.
Earnhardt was also in the NBC booth as a third analyst from 2018 to 2023, but he opted to take the 2024 season off before returning with only Prime and TNT. Since 2024, NBC has moved forward with a three-man booth.
The broadcast booth is notably set to remain the same whether a race is shown live on USA or NBC.
