Daniel Hemric took the first pole position of his NASCAR Cup Series career for the round of 12 playoff race at Kansas Speedway, the Hollywood Casino 400.

Daniel Hemric secured Richard Childress Racing their fourth pole position of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the highest amount among teams without any playoff drivers, by taking the first pole position of his Cup Series career for the round of 12 finale at Kansas Speedway, the Hollywood Casino 400.

The rookie Hemric took the pole position for this 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kansas Speedway oval in Kansas City, Kansas by recording a top lap time of 30.329 seconds (178.047 miles per hour) in his #8 Chevrolet in the single-car qualifying session for this race.

Hemric is currently out of a ride for next season, as Tyler Reddick is set to be promoted from Richard Childress Racing’s Xfinity Series team to their Cup Series team in 2020.
