2:45 PM ET – Starting Grid for tonight’s race.
3:15 PM ET – rain is in the area tonight in Kansas but those in the weather know seem to feel confident that we will be racing tonight.
3:20 PM ET – Green Flag is scheduled for 7:46 PM ET tonight.
3:42 PM ET – small set of showers could hit the track within the next 30 minutes or so, nothing that will impact the race as it’s still 4 hours away.
3:50 PM ET – Current radar shows that more showers could become an issue between 7:00 PM ET and 9:00 PM ET
4:08 PM ET – Drivers meeting is scheduled to take place at 5:30 PM ET (4:30 PM CT)
4:17 PM ET – Gates are open …
4:33 PM ET – 43 drivers will be racing for this bad boy tonight!
4:40 PM ET – This is pretty awesome.
4:47 PM ET – lots of rain all around the track right now. The radar is not a pretty thing to look at right now.
5:15 PM ET – The showers around the track have moved past. However, there is a band coming towards the track that has some pretty severe weather with it. That band could hit the track around the time the race is supposed to begin.
5:50 PM ET – rain is about 90 minutes away from the track. Driver Intros have been moved up 10 minutes due to threat of rain. The start of the race might be delayed depending on what this approaching cell does.
6:20 PM ET – Green Flag time for the race has been moved to 7:35 PM ET and there will be a competition caution on lap 25.
6:24 PM ET – Large storm cell is 65 miles away from the track, it should be over the track within 60-80 minutes. Depending on when this cell hits it will determine whether or not the race starts on time.
6:38 PM ET – NASCAR might be able to get this race started but the rain is going to come. Showers should last 60-90 minutes and then it will take a little more than an hour to dry the track.
6:50 PM ET – rain will hit the track within the hour and is still expected to last more than an hour. The good news is the rain is picking up speed and the radar is mostly clear behind this cell.
7:15 PM ET – rain is less than 30 minutes away …
7:27 PM ET – rain is still closing in but it seems like things should get underway first. Fox Sports 1 now has the coverage.
7:32 PM ET – Getting ready to go racing with rain on the way!
