Thousands of drivers have raced in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series since the circuit began in 1949. Only 184 of those drivers have tasted victory in the series and only 30 have attained the ultimate goal of winning the Sprint Cup championship.

NASCAR Cup winners and champions have come from various backgrounds. Most of them started racing at their local short track before moving up through various short track touring series where they garnered the attention of big-time NASCAR car owners. While drivers like Earnhardt, Waltrip, Johnson and Kenseth were given opportunities to make it in NASCAR, there are countless short track racers who had the talent but never got the opportunity for whatever reason.
