The 2017 season is less than two weeks away and the Daytona 500 is less than three weeks away. As NASCAR prepares to kick off the new season, there are still teams looking to solidify their race operations and fill a few more open slots before the cars get back onto the track.

Each month we highlight some of the more exciting openings in the sport as well as some that our readers might be interested in applying for. If you have ever dreamed of working with a NASCAR team or NASCAR themselves you might consider applying for one of the openings below.

  • *NEW* Toyota Racing – CFD Calculation Engineer

      Job description: The main responsibility of this position will be to provide direction for performance improvements of our top-tier NASCAR engines through detailed analysis of the gas exchange and combustion processes. The primary duties will include conducting high-fidelity CFD calculations of: cylinder filling and emptying, fuel spray, in-cylinder mixture formation and combustion processes, as well as optimization of the relevant geometries. The selected candidate will work closely with other team members within the Design/Calculation group, and our Development engineers to ensure the relevance of the calculations, good correlation with experimental data, and to provide results within demanding time schedules. The successful applicant will also be responsible for developing advanced calculation methodologies to enable quicker turnaround times from initial concept/idea through to having final results/reports available for review.

    • Dover International Speedway is hosting four job fairs in preparation for its two NASCAR tripleheader weekends on June 2-4 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1 and the Firefly Music Festival on June 15-18. Energetic, flexible and motivated people are sought for temporary positions during these events. The job fair schedule, hosted at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino:
      Saturday, February 25, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Diamond Rooms 2 and 3 (fourth floor).
      Saturday, March 11, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Diamond Rooms 2 and 3.
      Tuesday, April 18, 4-8 p.m., Diamond Room 3
      Saturday, May 6, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Diamond Room 3
      The job fair will just be recruiting for temporary event positions only. Among the positions available will be:

      Shuttle drivers
      Hospitality workers
      RV/Camping representatives
      Firefly brew crew
      No part-time or full-time positions with Dover International Speedway or Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will be included in these job fairs.
