A photograph of a Lewis Hamilton-looking man pouring an alcoholic beverage into the gas tank of a gold Maserati with an unlit cigar in his mouth recently showed up online. Despite popular belief, the photo is actually not of the three-time Formula One champion.

Apparently my recent article about the Kurt Busch fiasco when he was reportedly cut from Stewart-Haas Racing when they simply chose not to renew his contract before free agency didn’t successfully deliver the intended message of the fact that you should not believe everything you read on the Internet. At least not to many Formula One fans, anyway.

Then again, the Formula One crowd wouldn’t exactly care about Kurt Busch and his contract, so maybe this article will do the trick in getting that message across to them since it actually has to do with a three-time champion of their sport. A recent photograph shows that this message may be in need of deliverance.

There was recently an image posted of a young black man who looks like Lewis Hamilton. This Hamilton-looking man was pouring an alcoholic beverage into a gold Maserati with an unlit cigar between his lips. See the image using the link below.

You can see the image here.

I first saw this image via a Sebastian Vettel group on Facebook before it was removed after someone realized a mistake had been made. Vettel is the current leader of the Formula One championship standings and is the only driver whom Hamilton currently trails in the standings.

One of the group members posted the image in an attempt to bash Hamilton, referencing his recent line in an interview, which you can watch a few paragraphs below, about the situation with Vettel at Baku regarding being a role model for children.

The photo was intended to effectively show Hamilton dumping an alcoholic beverage into a gas tank of a gold Maserati in an attempt to show the world how foolish he is and how is doesn’t even listen to his own advice about being a role model for kids.

First off, I’ll admit that trash talk is almost everything when it comes to sports debates. That is, when facts are used to back up all opinions. An opinion really doesn’t hold much water without being based on factual evidence.

With this image, however, there was one problem, and it was a big problem. No, the image wasn’t photoshopped; this problem was arguably bigger than that problem would have been. The problem was that the black man in the photo wasn’t actually Lewis Hamilton, so the bashing and trash talk from Vettel fans was based on a pure lie.

As you can see with a quick glance at the image itself, the angle of the photo makes the person look like Hamilton, so the fact that the photo was posted to bash him to begin with was probably an honest mistake.

However, there are a few ways to tell it’s not Hamilton. First, this man’s skin is darker than Hamilton’s. Next, this man doesn’t have a tattoo on his neck like Hamilton does. And finally, this man is wearing a white robe with an “SS” symbol on it, the symbol for Slim Stunta, a rapper.

And if you do a quick Google search of Slim Stunta with or without the term “gold Maserati” assuming you don’t know who he is already, you will see that his face does resemble Hamilton’s with glasses on, and you will see that he is who this image is really of, not Lewis Hamilton.

So don’t panic, as there is no need to hide your children from Lewis Hamilton over “fake news”.
