Travis Braden will join the ARCA Racing Series Presented By Menards full-time in the 2018 season with RFMS Racing in the #27 Ford.

The offseason is full of news and stories for many teams in many racing series, including in the ARCA Racing Series Presented By Menards. Its been a mix of positives and negatives so far for the series, with General Tire renewing their deal with the series, while Cunningham Motorsports announced they will be shutting their doors. However, another Ford team has positive news, with RFMS Racing returning full-time in 2018.

After having A.J. Fike and Travis Braden share driving responsibilities for the 2017 season, team owner Don Fike confirmed last week that they will field one full-time driver in 2018. Braden will take over the #27 Ford full-time in the new year, racing the entire ARCA Racing Series schedule. Braden, who previously earned wins at Lucas Oil Raceway and Winchester Speedway, holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from West Virginia University.

Braden had this to say about the opportunity to compete with RFMS, according to ARCA Racing:

"More from ARCANASCAR driver issued one-race suspension after Mid-OhioNASCAR: Saturday’s Talladega race will make you feel oldNASCAR championship contender arrested, suspended indefinitelyNASCAR driver penalized after posting bizarre videoNASCAR: Penalty looms after driver records bizarre videoAfter working with these guys for a month or so last season, I feel pretty blessed to get to join Don (Fike/team owner), Dan and Casey for an entire season and finish what we started in 2017.After the first few weeks, we started to mesh well as a team and really make progress with these cars and finding speed. There’s a lot more we know we can work on and that’s going to be our goal. We have a baseline, and we know what seems to work well and where we need to focus some more attention. We’re adding some new cars and equipment to the stable as well. Things are looking fantastic, and we are chomping at the bit to get the season started."

RFMS Racing will return in the 2018 season thanks in large part due to the support of many team partners. The team, which has competed off and on in the series since the mid-1990s, turned full-time to ARCA in 2016 with A.J. Fike. RFMS has also competed in midget cars, various USAC Series, and the former Infiniti Pro Series.
