While some may say he is upset, all Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is showing is the fact that he is locked in and focused on one thing.

As a result of the backlash over an Instagram video featuring him telling his four-year-old nephew Kaiden that “boys don’t wear princess dresses” and the backlash that followed after he apologized for the video but then liked tweets saying that he did nothing wrong and that he should not have apologized, four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton deleted every single one of his Instagram posts and all over his tweets since Sunday, October 29th, 2017.

While this has prompted many to believe that the online trolls have gotten to him via their constant harassment, particularly over the past week, this only means one thing, and it is one thing that the trolls won’t want to hear.

Lewis Hamilton is locked in.

More from Formula One

The 32-year-old doesn’t need the distractions at this point, and he is no longer putting himself in a position where those distractions can factor into his life. Instead, he has one focus, and that focus is on Formula One.

Hamilton’s four career Formula One championships put him in a third place tie on the all-time titles list. He trails only Michael Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio on that list, with those two drivers having won seven and five titles, respectively. Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost have also won four titles. Hamilton’s 62 career victories in the sport place him in second on the all-time wins list behind only Schumacher, who won 91 races.

With Hamilton recently saying that he plans on driving in the sport for another three seasons, he is in a prime position to potentially break or at least tie both the all-time championships and wins records.

While Lewis Hamilton has also said that it is not his goal to pass Schumacher’s marks, the fact that he has now effectively removed himself from social media shows that he is locked in and his sole focus at this point is Formula One whether that means breaking records or just winning.
