GoDaddy are set to sponsor NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick in both the 2018 Daytona 500 and the 2018 Indianapolis 500.

Autosport.com has revealed that one of Danica Patrick’s old sponsors will be reuniting with her for the 60th annual Daytona 500 in the NASCAR Cup Series and the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 in IndyCar.

Patrick announced that she would be driving in those two races this year more than two months ago right when she announced her full-time retirement from the Cup Series following five seasons of driving full-time for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Up until this point, the only news that has broken in regard to this situation is the fact that several teams have ruled out fielding an entry for Patrick in one or both of those races. There has being nothing about a ride materializing for either of those two races.

That all made sense. Aside of her lackluster results in the series, one of the key reasons why Patrick was leaving the Cup Series was because of sponsorship issues. Sponsors haven’t been flocking to her like they once were.

Truth be told, the novelty had simply worn off. This cast a huge shade doubt in terms of her potentially landing a ride in one or both of the races in 2018 that she had announced she had intended to compete in.

But with GoDaddy, arguably her most iconic sponsor, returning, this could change the narrative as far as landing a ride goes.

Here is what Patrick had to say about the deal, according to Autosport.com.

"“This is definitely the way I want to finish my racing career – at these two iconic races, backed by my iconic, long-time sponsor. GoDaddy was there for me when my career was just really starting so it’s exciting to be getting back in the GoDaddy green for my final two races.“Our brands have always been powerful together, and I think it’s awesome to have them at my side when I go all in with my businesses after racing. I don’t think I could have written a better ending to my racing career – driving my last laps on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway … although winning it with GoDaddy would obviously be the icing on the cake.”"

GoDaddy sponsored Patrick from her second IndyCar season in 2006 until she left the sport following the 2011 season. They continued to sponsor her in NASCAR through the 2015 season before leading the sport entirely.
