There are still several teams with which Danica Patrick could make her IndyCar return in the 2018 Indianapolis 500 in May.

Don’t count out Danica Patrick, 35, just yet in terms of landing an Indianapolis 500 ride this May. With GoDaddy, her sponsor from 2006 until she left IndyCar in 2011, returning as her sponsor for the race, the key issue of sponsorship no longer seems to be an issue for her, and her odds of landing a ride in the race look a lot better now than they did a few days ago.

Now the only question that remains is which team will she be driving for?

We already know that Chip Ganassi Racing and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports have ruled out fielding an entry for her in the 102nd running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. But several other teams have now emerged as possible candidates.

One possible team for her to drive for in the Indianapolis 500 would be Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, who have confirmed talks with Patrick. In each of the last two seasons, the Chevrolet-powered team have fielded one entry in the race, and that has been for 22-year-old Sage Karam. With them set to enter two cars in this year’s race and Patrick on the shortlist of potential drivers for a ride, the potential is there for her to land a ride in the race with this team.

Another possible team for her to drive for in the Indianapolis 500 would be Ed Carpenter Racing. The team run as a two-car full-time operation, but they have fielded a third entry for the Indianapolis 500 in the past, usually doing so for J.R. Hildebrand when he hasn’t been a full-time driver. With him not likely to be a full-time driver in the 2018 season, he could certainly end up driving for the team. But Patrick could as well seeing as how the team have been in talks with her management team.

And finally, another possible team for her to drive for in the Indianapolis 500 would be Harding Racing. Harding Racing are set to enter their first year as a full-time IndyCar program after they fielded an entry driven by Gabby Chaves in the three superspeedway races, including the Indianapolis 500, in the 2017 season. While the team have not spoken with her, they do want to be a two-car team for this year’s Indianapolis 500.
