Justin Marks has confirmed at least one race of his 2018 NASCAR schedule, running in the Daytona 500 with Rick Ware Racing in the #51 Chevy.

More and more seats in the Great American Race are filling up. Rick Ware Racing is the latest NASCAR team to confirm who will drive with the team in the Daytona 500, picking up a journeyman driver from the world of motorsports. Justin Marks has raced everything from sports cars to stock cars, and will now race at Daytona in the #51 Chevy.

Marks, whose last attempt at Daytona failed when his RAB Racing team failed to qualify, will use the Daytona 500 to kick off a part-time Cup Series effort. Rick Ware Racing will partner with Premium Motorsports and ECR Engines to provide Marks with a competitive entry for the Great American Race. Longtime sponsor Katerra and Harry’s shaving products will sponsor Marks.

The partnership for Daytona between Premium Motorsports and Rick Ware Racing will create pseudo-teammates for two one-off entries. Premium will also enter Danica Patrick in what will be her final NASCAR start in the Daytona 500, in the #7 GoDaddy Chevy. Theoretically, both teams could still field additional entries in the season opener.

Marks had this to say about his great opportunity to finally race in the Daytona 500, according to ESPN.

"Racing in the Daytona 500 is a dream come true. The team has taken a dramatic step forward for 2018 and I think we’re going to have some real good equipment for this year’s 500. Going down there in the race, without the drama of having to qualify, is going to relieve a lot of pressure and we can focus on our race car’s handling and race ability so were fully prepared for the event. Additionally, it’s awesome to welcome a new company, Harry’s, to NASCAR. The car looks great, they’re excited, and it’s going to be fun to introduce NASCAR fans to a new way of shaving."

Marks has yet to confirm who he will race with in any additional Cup Series races in 2018, but Rick Ware Racing or Premium Motorsports could be outlets. Premium has yet to confirm if they will have any car with a full-time driver, while Rick Ware Racing will enter the #52 Chevy part-time for a variety of drivers.
