Following the third of 36 races on the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, which teams rank where in the team power rankings?

At Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kevin Harvick rolled to a dominant victory for the second race in a row in his #4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, giving him as many victories through three races in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as he had in all of last season.

While Harvick has had tons of success and his teammates have been solid, he is the only driver of Stewart-Haas Racing’s four drivers who is in the top 10 in the championship standings. How does this affect the team’s position in the NASCAR Team Power Rankings?

Through three races so far this season, no Toyota driver has won a race. However, that did not stop Furniture Row Racing from moving up in the rankings thanks to the fact that their lone driver Martin Truex Jr. secured his second straight top 5 finish at Las Vegas.

More from NASCAR

After moving up to the #1 spot in these rankings following last weekend’s race at Atlanta largely due to the fact that Denny Hamlin did not finish either of the first two races of the season outside of the top 4, Joe Gibbs Racing fell noticeably in this week’s edition of the rankings after what was a race to forget aside of Kyle Busch’s 2nd place finish, and perhaps even Erik Jones’ season-high 8th place finish.

The struggles for the Chevrolet teams continued aside of Kyle Larson’s impressive 3rd place finish, and these struggles continue to be reflected in these rankings. It is no secret that these teams, particularly the four-car powerhouse team of Hendrick Motorsports, need to make major improvements going forward.

Here are the updated NASCAR Team Power Rankings following the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas.

NOTE: Only full-time teams that consist of a full-time driver or full-time drivers are included in these rankings, which are based on a mathematical formula.
