With the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway having been the fifth race of the 36-race 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, there is no longer a guarantee that the “average finish” and “average finish in last five races” categories will match for each driver. Seeing as how these two factors are extremely important in the calculation of the NASCAR Cup Series Driver Power Rankings, it will be interesting to see if the overall complexion of these rankings is changed in a significant way as the series moves to its sixth race of the 2018 season and beyond.

Be sure not to miss the next NASCAR Cup Series race, which is the sixth race on the 2018 season’s 36-race schedule. That race, the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia, is set to take place on Sunday, March 25th, and it is set to be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 on that date starting at 2:00 pm ET.
