The 19th race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season is the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky. Here is the full entry list for that race.

The 36-race 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season is officially halfway over following the conclusion of the 18th race of the year, which was this past Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. This weekend’s race is the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, which is the first race of the second half of the season.

A total of 39 drivers are on the entry list for the 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kentucky Speedway oval in Sparta, Kentucky, making the field size of the Quaker State 400 one of the largest field sizes of the season.

Only four of the season’s first 18 races featured a full field of 40 drivers, and only three of the others featured 39 drivers, meaning the field size for the Quaker State 400 is set to be tied for the fifth largest field size through the first 19 races of the season.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Kentucky Speedway has only hosted Cup Series races since the 2011 season, and it has only hosted one race per season in each of the seven seasons during which it has hosted a race thus far. This Saturday night’s race at the track is the only scheduled Cup Series race at the track this year as well.

Six of the seven races at Kentucky Speedway have featured maximum field sizes, meaning this Saturday night’s race will be just the second Cup Series race in track history that does not feature a maximum field size. Of the track’s first seven Cup Series races, the only race that did not feature a maximum field size was the 2014 race, which featured only 42 drivers. At that time, the maximum field size was still 43.

In the two races at Kentucky Speedway that have been held since the maximum field size was reduced from 43 drivers to 40 drivers, the field has been full. For the first time in the 40-driver maximum field size era, that is not set to be the case this year.
