The start time for the final race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series regular season, the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard, has been moved up.

The 26th and final race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series regular season was scheduled to get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. ET.

However, as has been the case in many NASCAR race weekends so far this season, the threat of rain has caused the start time of this race, the Big Machine Vokda 400 at the Brickyard, to be moved up.

The start time of the race, which is more commonly known as the Brickyard 400, has been moved up by one hour to 1:00 p.m. ET, as have all pre-race ceremonies and festivities.

Whether or not the race being moved up by one hour actually increases the odds of it taking place tomorrow remains to be seen, as the forecast calls for rain all day tomorrow as well. This race is scheduled to be a 160-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

The 100-lap Xfinity Series race at the track, the Lilly Diabetes 250, was scheduled to take place this afternoon, but it was postponed until Monday because of the fact that rain prevented it from taking place today. With Monday’s forecast looking far better than tomorrow’s, the Brickyard 400 may very well end up taking place on Monday as well.

Because of the fact that rain also prevented qualifying for the Brickyard 400 from taking place later this evening, the 40 drivers who are set to compete in the race will line up by the owner points of the cars that they are driving.

When the race eventually gets underway, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch is set to start from the pole position in his #18 Toyota alongside Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick in second place in his #4 Ford.
