Corey LaJoie is set to drive full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in the 2019 season, and he is set to do so driving for Go Fas Racing.

Corey LaJoie has never driven in the NASCAR Cup Series for a full season, but that is set to change in the 2019 season, as he is set to replace Matt DiBenedetto as the full-time driver of the #32 Go Fas Racing Ford.

The 27-year-old Concord, North Carolina native has competed in the Cup Series in three of the last five seasons, including the last two, but he has done so as a part-time driver. He drove in two races for Randy Humphrey Racing in the 2014 season, 32 races for BK Racing in the 2017 season and 23 races for TriStar Motorsports in the 2018 season.

Here is what LaJoie had to say about the opportunity to drive for Go Fas Racing in the 2019 season, according to NASCAR.

"“I’m really excited about it. Just, God’s got me in a really good point in my life right now. There were times where Sunday nights, I was just wondering what I was doing. You know, if I should go back welding seats or go be a crew chief. Man, there was a lot of obstacles to get to being a full-time Cup driver. If I need to be careful, I might make a career out of this thing before long. I don’t think there’s been any other Cup guys that were flying out to K&N West Series, crew chiefing for any guys three years ago. To rewind now, it’s pretty crazy.”"

Here is what Go Fas Racing team owner Archie St. Hilaire had to say about LaJoie driving for the team in the 2019 season, according to NASCAR.

"“We’re a blue-collar race team and Corey’s a blue-collar driver. He can build a car, he can fix a car, and he can drive a car. I think that’s exciting.”"

In his 57 career Cup Series starts, LaJoie has completed 14,268 laps and recorded an average starting position of 33.8 and an average finishing position of 31.0. He has never led any laps and his career-high finish is his 11th place finish in the July race at Daytona International Speedway in the 2017 season.

LaJoie’s only other career top 20 finish is his 16th place finish in the September round of 16 playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past season. He has finished 45 of the 57 races in which he has competed, and he has finished in three of those 45 races on the lead lap.

DiBenedetto, meanwhile, is set to replace Kasey Kahne, who retired before this past season ended, at Leavine Family Racing as the driver of what was the #95 Chevrolet but is set to become the #95 Toyota as a result of the fact that the team switched their manufacturer from Chevrolet to Toyota and no longer have a technical alliance but Richard Childress Racing but instead have one with Joe Gibbs Racing.
