Bass Pro Shops will continue their long partnership with Martin Truex Jr. and sponsor him in the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, his first season driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Furniture Row Racing, the team for which Martin Truex Jr. drove full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series from the 2014 season through the 2018 season, shut down following the conclusion of the 2018 season.

This shutdown came after it was announced earlier in the season that 5-Hour ENERGY would be ending their partnership with the team once the season ended even though team owner Barney Visser shot down rumors that shutting down was a possibility a few weeks after this news broke.

As a result, Truex Jr. is set to move to Joe Gibbs Racing, the team with which Furniture Row Racing had a technical alliance since the 2016 season, to replace Daniel Suarez as the driver of the #19 Toyota in the 2019 season.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Bass Pro Shops announced Friday that they will continue to sponsor the 38-year-old Mayetta, New Jersey native in the 2019 season and beyond, as they have signed a multi-year agreement to serve as the primary sponsor of the #19 Toyota.

Most recently, Bass Pro Shops served as Truex Jr.’s primary sponsor in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

This sponsorship agreement means that the hood of Truex Jr.’s #19 Toyota is set to feature North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company in 24 of the 36 races on the 2019 schedule.

The first of these 24 races is the season opener, the Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, which is scheduled to take place in just under a month in a half on Sunday, February 17.

Here is what Johnny Morris, the founder of Bass Pro Shops, had to say about continuing his company continuing their long partnership with the 2017 Cup Series champion, according to NASCAR.

"“We’re fired up to keep rolling with Martin in 2019. His spirit and passion for hunting and fishing makes him a great ambassador for Bass Pro and the outdoors. Martin is a true champion in racing as well as in life, and I’m honored to call him my friend and fishing buddy of more than 15 years.”"

Here is what Truex Jr. had to say about Bass Pro Shops continuing their long partnership with him, according to NASCAR.

"“I’m pumped to have Bass Pro with us again. Johnny Morris has supported me throughout my career. I can’t thank him and the entire Bass Pro Shops organization enough for their support. I look forward to continuing our success together for many years to come.”"

Truex Jr. has competed in the Cup Series since the 2004 season, but he did not become a full-time driver until the 2006 season. In fact, he won the Xfinity Series championships in both the 2004 season and the 2005 season, and he was sponsored by Bass Pro Shops in both of those seasons.

Since the 2006 season, Truex Jr. has not missed any of the 468 Cup Series races that have been contested. In 477 career Cup Series starts, he has earned 19 victories, 87 top five finishes, 181 top 10 finishes and 19 pole positions. He has led 7,535 of the 134,084 laps that he has completed, and he has recorded an average career starting position of 14.5 and an average career finishing position of 16.2.

Aside of his championship in the 2017 season, Truex Jr. has finished in the top 10 in the championship standings twice. Both of these top 10 finishes were top four finishes, as he finished in fourth place in the 2015 season and second in the 2018 season.
