A total of 37 drivers are set to compete in the second race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

After 42 drivers attempted to qualify for the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season opener, the 61st annual Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway and two of these 42 drivers failed to do so, there are only 37 drivers on the entry list for this Sunday’s race.

This Sunday’s race, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, is set to be a 325-lap race around the four-turn, 1.54-mile (2.478-kilometer) high-banked Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. It is set to be the first and only race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

There have not been as few as 37 drivers entered in a Cup Series race since 37 drivers competed in the August race at Watkins Glen International last year. This race was the 22nd race on the 36-race 2018 schedule.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Last season, the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway featured only 36 drivers, which made it the race with the smallest field throughout the entire season. Of the season’s 36 races, 29 featured more than 37 drivers.

Of the 37 drivers who are on the entry list for this race, 33 are full-time drivers who are set to compete in each of the 36 races on this year’s schedule while the other four are part-time drivers.

Of the 33 full-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, 32 are drivers who are eligible to earn points in the Cup Series while one isn’t, as this lone driver, Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain, also competes full-time in the Xfinity Series and is eligible to earn points in this series instead of in the Cup Series.

Three of the four part-time drivers who are set to compete in it are set to drive for chartered teams while one is not, although this will not matter much for this particular race considering the fact that the field for the race will not be a full 40-driver field.

Here is a list of the 33 full-time drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway as well as in the remaining 34 races on the 2019 schedule.
